Police Question Suspect In Jets Fan Fight
According to the New Jersey State Police are have identified a 38-year-old Long Island man and are questioning him on his role in a brawl after yesterday's Jets game. He's believed to be the one captured on video punching a female Patriots fan in the head.
The man, who works as a bartender, was reportedly picked up by police at his Suffolk County (N.Y.) home today and taken for questioning. A police spokesperson would merely confirm "the incident is under investigation."
The man is not the only one who could potentially face charges. The video only captures the tail end of the fight, which we're told involved multiple people from at least two groups—one of Jets fans, the other wearing Patriots gear. Multiple eyewitnesses tell us the groups had been combative for much of the afternoon, though it didn't turn physical until the game ended.
Another angle of the punch has since surfaced on Youtube:
