Police Report Shows Shawn Oakman Was Accused Of Assault In 2013
Image [object Object] Earlier this month, former Baylor Bears defensive end Shawn Oakman was charged with sexual assault after another Baylor student said he assaulted her at his Waco duplex. Today, Alex Dunlap at Orangebloods published a Waco police report that shows Oakman was the subject of an assault report back in 2013, when an ex-girlfriend said she told him to leave and he responded by calling her a slut, a whore, yelling in her face, and shoving her into walls and cabinets. When she said he was hurting her, she told police his response was, “You think I care?”
The woman said she didn’t want charges filed, and the report doesn’t mention police contacting Oakman.
Police spokesman Sgt. Patrick Swanton told the that “it’s not commonplace” for Waco PD to tell the university about incidents involving students. The paper also reached out to Baylor but said the school “did not immediately respond to requests for comment.”
