Raiders' Brock Bowers (knee) gets extra day to rest

Mandatory Credit: Bob DeChiara-Imagn Images Las Vegas Raiders coach Pete Carroll didn't share an injury update Monday on tight end Brock Bowers, but he did share some trademark optimism.
The Raiders host the Kansas City Chiefs on MNF in Week 2, so they have an extra day to prepare for their AFC West rivals. That's a bonus for Bowers' injured knee.
"These three days are really crucial," Carroll told reporters Monday. "This will really help us and give us a chance."
Bowers caught five passes for a team-high 103 yards in Las Vegas' 20-13 win Sunday at New England, but the second-year standout took a hit to his right knee from the Patriots' Craig Woodson along the sidelines late in the third quarter.
Bowers earned All-Pro recognition as a rookie with 112 catches for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns.
