Ravens vs. Dolphins Week 9 Thursday Night Football Top Betting Picks, Predictions
The Miami Dolphins will host the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. Both of these teams have been massive disappointments throughout the 2025 season. Baltimore enters this game with a 2-5 record, while Miami owns a 2-6 record.
We have a relatively simple situation where the offenses are drastically better than the defenses. This game could quickly turn into a shootout, and this is an extremely reasonable total for that type of game.
The Ravens have been struggling recently, but they still rank eighth in the NFL in points (.453) per play. That number has dropped drastically in recent weeks, although it bumped back up last week. Overall, they’re averaging 24.9 points per game.
The key here is that Lamar Jackson is expected to play this week. He’s played more than 90% of the snaps in only three games this season. In those games, Baltimore averaged 37.0 points per game. Overall, they scored 30+ points in each of those games, including 40+ in two of them.
The Dolphins haven’t been a dominant offense this season, but they’ve still found some success. Even with the struggles, they rank 16th in the league in points (.392) per play. They’re also averaging a healthy .494 points per play at home this season.
Miami’s played three home games this season. They’ve scored 27 points in each of those seasons. The Dolphins were drastically better at home last season, and it seems they’ve continued that into 2025.

These have been two of the worst defenses in the NFL for various reasons. The Ravens are ranked 26th in the NFL in points allowed (.452) per play, while the Dolphins rank 28th in the same category (.457). Overall, these teams are allowing a ridiculous 56.9 combined points per game this season.
The only major concern in this game is the potential pace. These are two teams that want to slow the game down, and that could limit opportunities. I don’t believe that’s going to matter because of the defenses, though.
Miami is in an interesting spot where they’ve found red zone success once they get there. Baltimore also struggles to defend in the red zone this season. On the other side, the Dolphins have been good, but I don’t believe it’s going to matter much with Jackson back.
The Baltimore offense is drastically more dynamic with Jackson [for obvious reasons], and both teams should find plenty of points in this matchup.
