Rays place Griffin Jax (elbow) on 15-day injured list

Griffin, whose IL move is retroactive to Thursday, had been scratched from his start Saturday against the Seattle Mariners.
In 29 appearances (18 starts) this season, Jax is 6-9 with a 3.63 ERA but had taken the loss in three of his last four starts. Jax is 29-40 with a 3.95 ERA in 328 appearances (34 starts) over six seasons for the Minnesota Twins (2021-25) and Rays.
Grove, 29, made two appearances for the Rays earlier this season and went 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA. In four major league seasons he is 8-7 with a 5.42 ERA in 66 appearances (20 starts) with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2022-24) and Rays.
