Red Sox acquire INF Zack Short from Mets

The Boston Red Sox acquired infielder Zack Short from the New York Mets on Wednesday for cash considerations.

Short, 28, was designated for assignment by the Mets last Friday with the season debut of J.D. Martinez.


He is 1-for-9 with two runs and four strikeouts in 10 games this season.

Short is a career .172 hitter with 13 homers and 55 RBIs in 187 games with the Detroit Tigers (2021-23) and Mets.
