Red Sox make bullpen move with DFA of RHP Jorge Alcala

Mandatory Credit: David Butler II-Imagn Images The Boston Red Sox recalled right-hander Isaiah Campbell from Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, while right-hander Jorge Alcala was designated for assignment.
Campbell, 27, had one appearance with the Red Sox earlier this season and has made 36 relief appearances over parts of three seasons for the Seattle Mariners (2023) and Red Sox.
Alcala, 30, had a 3.31 ERA in 19 relief appearances with the Red Sox this season and was charged with three runs while recording one out Monday against the Kansas City Royals. He is 9-13 with a 4.24 ERA in parts of seven seasons with the Minnesota Twins (2019-25) and Red Sox.
Alcala was traded from the Twins to the Red Sox in June.
