Mandatory Credit: Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports The Chicago Red Stars announced the signing of rookie Hannah Anderson to a three-year extension on Wednesday, inking the defender through December of 2027.
"Hannah's skills and drive to compete will be an asset to our backline," Red Stars general manager Richard Feuz said. "We're thrilled to extend her contract and look forward to her continued impact on the field in the seasons to come."
Anderson, 23, was selected in the third round of the National Women's Soccer League Draft in January following an All-American career at Texas Tech. She earned a roster spot and a one-year contract with Chicago in March, made her playing debut on May 25 and started her first game on June 8.
Anderson has made six total starts as a rookie, with no goals or assists manning the backline.
"I feel very blessed to be able to continue my career at a club who believed in me from the start," Anderson said. "I'm excited to be staying in Chicago and to continue representing this club. Let's go Red Stars!"
