Referee Accidentally Aids Israeli Basketball Team's Game-Winning Three
Down by one, Hapoel Jerusalem's Yotam Halperin hit a three-pointer with a lucky bounce to take a two-point lead over Maccabi Tel Aviv. But it took a well-placed referee for Halperin to get his game-winner.
Derwin Kitchen's pass out was inaccurate, but thanks to the official who couldn't get out of the way, the ball found its way into Halperin's hands. No defenders were anywhere near him, and although the three wasn't clean, it counted and stood for a lead with 25.6 seconds left in the game.
Hapoel Jerusalem nabbed the win, 87-85.
