Reggie Bullock Explains Why He Looked Up To His Murdered Transgender Sister
Carlos Osorio/ [object Object] Mia Henderson, the older sister of Pistons forward Reggie Bullock, was stabbed to death in Baltimore in 2014, her “severely traumatized” body barely identifiable, the suspect in her murder only caught and charged because of DNA evidence found under her fingernails.
Today on The Herd (with the great Nick Wright filling in), Bullock spoke about his relationship with Henderson, who was born Kevin Long:
“He lived as himself, he taught me how to be [myself], he taught me how to take care of the family. Just be yourself. He was happy with being who he was, he wasn’t worried about how others felt about him.
“A person that can isolate the whole world out and not care about other people’s feelings is a strong person, to me. I think that was one of the biggest things that I got from him.”
