The San Francisco 49ers and backup quarterback Mac Jones agreed to a revised contract for the 2026 season, NFL Network reported Wednesday.

The updated deal includes a $300,000 roster bonus, a $3.55 million base salary and another $2.25 million available in incentives, per the report.

Jones, 27, who made eight starts (5-3 record) for an injured Brock Purdy last season, is due to become a free agent next March.

Jones completed a career-high 69.6% of his passes for 2,151 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions across 11 games last season, his first with San Francisco.

A first-round pick (15th overall) and a Pro Bowl selection with New England in 2021, Jones is 25-32 as a starter with the Patriots (2021-23), Jacksonville Jaguars (2024) and 49ers. He has completed 66.5% of his passes for 12,741 yards with 67 TDs and 50 picks in 63 games.

Purdy, 26, missed eight games last season with a turf-toe injury. The 49ers also have quarterbacks Adrian Martinez and Kurtis Rourke on the roster.
