Chase, who is listed as questionable to play against the Texans, injured his back in a hard fall during Sunday night's 24-18 victory over the Buffalo Bills. He did not participate in Wednesday's practice and was limited in both Thursday's and Friday's sessions.
Chase being available to play on Sunday would be a welcome sight for the Bengals (5-3), who have ruled out wideout Tee Higgins due to a hamstring injury.
Chase, 23, leads the team in catches (64), receiving yards (697) and receiving touchdowns (four) in eight games this season. The No. 5 overall pick in 2021 had four receptions for 41 yards in Cincinnati's victory over Buffalo.
Higgins, 24, had eight catches for a season-high 110 yards versus the Bills. He has 27 catches for 328 yards and two touchdowns in seven games this season.
