Mandatory Credit: Ron Chenoy-Imagn Images Nathaniel Hackett, who spent three seasons on Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur's staff, will keep it in the family and join Matt's brother, new Arizona head coach Mike LaFleur, as the Cardinals' offensive coordinator, per an ESPN report Wednesday.
Hackett, 46, who was the Denver Broncos' head coach for less than a season in 2022 before his firing, held the role of offensive coordinator under Matt LaFleur from 2019-21 and returned to Green Bay last season as a defensive analyst. During his tenure as offensive coordinator, then-Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers won consecutive MVPs in 2020-21.
In between stints with the Packers, Hackett was the New York Jets' offensive coordinator in 2023-24, succeeding Mike LaFleur.
Matt LaFleur called Green Bay's offensive plays while Hackett was offensive coordinator, and Mike LaFleur will do the same in Arizona this fall. Hackett called offensive plays for the Jets in 2023, but was relieved of those duties during the 2024 campaign.
Before his first stint on the Packers' staff, Hackett served as offensive coordinator with the Buffalo Bills (2013-14) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2016-18).
