Report: Chargers sign QB Will Grier off Pats' practice squad

The Los Angeles Chargers signed quarterback Will Grier off the New England Patriots' practice squad on Monday, NFL Network reported.

It is the first significant move by Chargers interim general manager JoJo Wooden since the team fired Tom Telesco and head coach Brandon Staley last Friday.

Grier, 28, was a third-round draft pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2019. He lost both starts that season and has not appeared in a regular season game since. He completed 28 of 52 passes for 228 yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions.

After the Panthers waived Grier at the start of the 2021 season, he spent some time with the Dallas Cowboys (2021-22) and Cincinnati Bengals (2023) before being signed by New England this September.
