Report: Cubs, RHP Hector Neris agree to 1-year, $9M deal

Right-handed reliever Hector Neris is signing a one-year, $9 million deal with the Chicago Cubs, multiple outlets reported Saturday.
ESPN said the contract has a $9 million option for 2025. It is a team option that will convert to a player option once Neris makes 60 appearances. The total maximum value, with incentives, is $23.25 million.
Neris appeared in 71 games last season for the Houston Astros, finishing with a 6-3 record, 1.71 ERA and two saves in 68 1/3 innings.
The 34-year-old has a career record of 33-36 with a 3.24 ERA and 89 saves with the Philadelphia Phillies (2014-21) and Astros.
