The Jets reportedly talked with the Las Vegas Raiders about acquiring Adams prior to last month's trade deadline.
Adams, who turns 31 on Dec. 24, played eight seasons with Rodgers during his time with the Green Bay Packers.
Adams erupted for 100 catches for 1,516 yards and a league-leading 14 receiving touchdowns during his first season with Las Vegas in 2022, but he has expressed frustration with his role in the Raiders' offense this season. He has just 57 receptions for 659 yards and three scores in 2023.
A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Adams has 826 catches for 10,296 yards and 90 touchdowns in 143 career games with the Packers (2014-21) and Raiders.
Rodgers, who turns 40 on Dec. 2, is attempting to come back from a ruptured Achilles and is targeting a mid-December return. The four-time NFL MVP sustained the injury in the season opener against the Buffalo Bills.
