Report: Michael Strahan seeking Giants ownership stake
Michael Strahan, Pro Football Hall of Famer and Good Morning America Host. The 20th Annual Dick Vitale Gala benefiting pediatric cancer research held at the Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota, had over 900 in attendance on Friday night May 2, 2025. Former New York Giants star Michael Strahan is pursuing an opportunity for an ownership stake in the team, Sportico reported Monday.
Strahan has reportedly teamed up with billionaire Marc Lasry to potentially purchase a piece of the up to 10 percent of the Giants that is up for sale.
The current owners, the Mara and Tisch families, hired a banker in February to reportedly explore finding two or three wealthy individuals or families, as opposed to private equity, to buy a non-controlling stake in the team.
Strahan's former teammate, Eli Manning, reportedly discussed joining the group but ultimately cited conflicts with his other business holdings.
Strahan played his entire 15-year career as a defensive end with the Giants, compiling 854 tackles and 141.5 sacks on his way to two Super Bowl appearances, including a win in 2008 in his final NFL game.
The 53-year-old has had a successful entertainment career since his playing years came to a close. He currently serves as a co-host on ABC's "Good Morning America" and is a football analyst on Fox NFL Sunday.
