Report: Oh Shit, Kyrie Irving Doesn't Want To Play With LeBron Anymore
Photo: Ben Margot/ [object Object] While LeBron James’s future with the Cavaliers beyond the 2017-18 season is unknown, someone else on the team might want to jump ship earlier than him. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported today that Kyrie Irving wants the fuck out:
Kyrie Irving is ready to end his run with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as league sources told ESPN that the guard has asked the team to trade him.
The request came last week and was made to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. Irving has expressed that he wants to go play in a situation where he can be a more focal point and no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James, sources said.
According to Windhorst’s report, James was “blindsided and disappointed” by this news. Keep in mind that the Cavaliers still haven’t officially hired a new general manager to replace David Griffin, after owner Dan Gilbert fired him, supposedly without consulting the best player on his team. James has also seemed generally grouchy with Gilbert’s decisions. What the hell is happening?
