New England coach Mike Vrabel told reporters that the team would be adding a new punter after Bryce Baringer was forced to exit Saturday's preseason win over the Philadelphia Eagles with an injury.
Haack, 32, was most recently with the Washington Commanders this offseason as a temporary injury replacement for Tress Way before he was released last week. He saw action last season, his ninth in the NFL, for the Arizona Cardinals, punting 25 times over seven games and averaging 51.3 yards per punt and 43.4 net yards per punt.
Haack appeared in 12 games over the last three seasons after serving as a full-time starter for his first six NFL seasons. He has career averages of 45.0 yards per punt and 39.9 net yards per punt over 478 punts across 110 games for the Miami Dolphins (2017-20), Buffalo Bills (2021), Indianapolis Colts (2022), Cleveland Browns (2023), New York Giants (2024) and Cardinals.
