Report: Raiders Interested In Trading For Jim Harbaugh
Jim Harbaugh has one year left on his contract with the 49ers, but the team might not wait that long to get rid of him. According to Adam Schefter, the coach could earn an extension if San Francisco wins out and gets into the playoffs, but if not, Harbaugh could be traded in the offseason to a desperate team like the Raiders.
Harbaugh's gone to three NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl in his time with San Francisco, but his working relationship with general manager Trent Baalke isn't that friendly. (He's also been underpaid at approximately $5 million a year, considering his success.)
The Raiders would keep him in California, but what would Oakland give up for him? If that swap includes draft picks, how would that affect his ability to make the team not suck? This scenario is still far off, and if the 49ers somehow finish 11-5, maybe everyone puts aside their differences for the trump card of winning, but for now, let's root for Harbaugh to the Jets.
