Police have yet to give an official cause of death for Rashaan Salaam, the former Heisman winner who was found dead in a park in Boulder, Colo. yesterday, but Salaam’s mother has told USA Today that police suspect that suicide was the cause of death.
From USA Today:
His mother, Khalada, told USA TODAY Sports Tuesday that police said they suspect it’s a suicide after finding a note.
“They said they found a note and would share that with us when we get there,” Salaam’s mother said.
USA Today’s report is backed up by local paper The Daily Camera, which cites a source with knowledge of the investigation who believes the cause of death was suicide. Salaam was 42 years old.
