Reports: D-backs SS Geraldo Perdomo gets 4-year extension
Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Geraldo Perdomo (2) slides safely in to home plate on Sept. 15, 2024 at Chase Field in Phoenix. The Arizona Diamondbacks and shortstop Geraldo Perdomo have agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $45 million, ESPN and MLB.com reported Monday.
The deal kicks in for the 2026 season and features a club option for 2030, the reports said.
Perdomo, 25, was an All-Star in 2023 and followed that up with a strong 2024 campaign, though he missed over nine weeks early in the season due to knee surgery.
Perdomo batted a career-best .273 with three home runs, 21 doubles, 37 RBIs and 61 runs in 98 games in 2024. He is a career .235 hitter with 14 homers, 54 doubles, 125 RBIs and 195 runs in 401 games for Arizona from 2021-24.
The Dominican Republic native also led the major leagues in sacrifice bunts in 2022 (12) and 2023 (14).
