The Athletic first reported the trade talks Wednesday centering around Glasnow and outfielder Manuel Margot going from Tampa Bay to the Dodgers in exchange for right-hander Ryan Pepiot and outfielder Jonny DeLuca.
Based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Glasnow's 2024 salary would count $25 million for luxury tax accounting. He is signed through 2025.
The Dodgers are replacing multiple pieces in the starting rotation. Clayton Kershaw and Julio Urias are free agents. Dustin May underwent right elbow surgery to repair his flexor tendon on July 18 and his return timetable is unclear.
Right-hander Tony Gonsolin had Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in August, repairing his right torn ulnar collateral ligament.
Gonsolin, 29, was 8-5 with a 4.98 ERA in 20 starts this season.
Glasnow, 30, has never topped 120 innings pitched in a season.
He was 10-7 with a 3.53 ERA in 2023 and 30-27 with a 3.89 ERA in 127 career games (88 starts).
