Cade York reportedly got the better of Justin Tucker while working out for the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday.

The Saints signed York -- a former LSU kicker -- to the practice squad, according to multiple media reports. He reportedly will battle practice squad kicker Charlie Smyth for the primary position with the Saints, who are releasing current kicker Blake Grupe, per the NFL Network.

York, 24, has not been on an NFL roster in 2025. He has made 33 of 45 field-goal attempts and 51 of 54 extra-point tries during his career with the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, Washington Commanders and Cincinnati Bengals.

The workout was the first for Tucker since serving his 10-game suspension for a violation of the league's personal conduct policy stemming from allegations of sexually inappropriate behavior.

Tucker, a five-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowl selection, was released by the Baltimore Ravens on May 5.

The Saints (2-9) addressed their kicking situation after Grupe missed two field goals during Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Grupe, who is 18 for 26 on field-goal tries this season, misfired from 38 and 47 yards before drilling a 33-yard attempt in the fourth quarter.
