Reports: Thabo Sefolosha Broke Ankle While Resisting Arrest
Atlanta Hawks players Pero Antic and Thabo Sefolosha were both arrested for obstructing police and disorderly conduct after Indiana’s Chris Copeland was stabbed at a New York City nightclub early Wednesday morning. Now, multiple reports claim that Sefolosha broke his ankle during the incident, and will miss the rest of the season.
Sefolosha was walking with a limp when he left the courthouse, and Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer acknowledged that he had an ankle injury.
Both RealGM and an Atlanta TV reporter cite league sources saying it happened at the club, but didn’t specify the timing. But an ESPN report claims it occurred while Sefolosha was resisting arrest.
Photos show that Sefolosha had a wrap around his ankle when police led him out of the station for a perp walk, and he appeared to be in significant pain.
