Multiple outlets are reporting that a boxing weigh-in at the Regency Hotel in Dublin today was attacked by three men wielding AK-47s.
The Independent has some details:
Three men burst into the foyer of the hotel at approximately 2.30pm dressed in “police-style” uniforms and armed with what eye witnesses say looked like AK47s, and fired a number shots, leading to dozens of people fleeing from the hotel.
It is understood that one man died at the scene. Two other men are seriously injured.
The hotel has been sealed off by emergency responders. The weigh-in was for an MGM BoxNation event scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled bouts were Jamie Kavanagh vs. Joao Bento and Gary Corcoran vs. Danny Butler. We’ll update this post as more information becomes available.
