Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-Imagn Images Five-star prospect and Southern California recruit Alijah Arenas was hospitalized and placed into a medically induced coma after he was involved in a car accident Thursday morning, ESPN reported.
Per ESPN, initial tests showed no broken bones for the 18-year-old, who is the son of three-time NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas.
TMZ reported the younger Arenas' Tesla Cybertruck "was completely mangled on the side of the road of a Los Angeles neighborhood." TMZ reported that it was unclear what caused the wreck.
Considered one of the top prospects of the Class of 2025, Arenas reportedly turned down offers from Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky and Louisville before committing to the Trojans.
The younger Arenas is a 6-foot-6 guard that recently competed in the McDonald's All-American Game and played basketball at Chatsworth High School in Los Angeles.
