Richard Seymour's Wife Isn't Messing Around
Patriots defensive lineman Richard Seymour's wife is not one to be tussled with. According to a police report, Tanya Seymour took part in a mob-like attack on some people at a New Year's Eve party.
Seymour was charged with second-degree lynching for her part in the melee. Sounds menacing. But thankfully, PFT's Italian EIC is still using his law degree:
According to Section 16-3-220 from the South Carolina Code of Laws covering Offenses Against the Person, here's the law governing second-degree lynching:
"Any act of violence inflicted by a mob upon the body of another person and from which death does not result shall constitute the crime of lynching in the second degree and shall be a felony. Any person found guilty of lynching in the second degree shall be confined at hard labor in the State Penitentiary for a term not exceeding twenty years nor less than three years, at the discretion of the presiding judge."
Here's a more specific report from the police affidavit, courtesy of TheState.com:
Tanya Seymour participated in the "mob" and punched the women numerous times in the face and body, arrest affidavits say.
One victim suffered a "busted lip and contusions under her right eye and to her finger," according to an affidavit. The other "sustained a bruise to her left arm, scratches to her face and a sprained right wrist," according to another affidavit. That victim also had a sore scalp from one attacker pulling her hair, it says.
And for a report completely devoid of legalese and sober newspaper verbage, let's go to our friends at MediaTakeout for the "real" story:
MediaTakeOut.com's snitches out in South Carolina just caught wind that NFL baller Richard Seymour of the New England patriots wife who is also his high school sweet heart & the mother of his 4 kids - Tanya Seymour was just arrested.
Why you ask, well the three time super bowl champ reportedly wasn't being faithful. So his wife and one of her girls paid the jump off a little visit and delivered some good old fashioned southern justice.
Both ladies were charged with LYNCHING — DANG!!!
Dang is right. Hopefully, Tanya will get herself a jury trial, one that's sympathetic to the many nuances involved in executing proper Southern Justice upon a deserving party. Also, for his own safety, Richard should probably get as far away from her as possible.
