Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports It took Robert Whittaker just 1:49 to knock out Ikram Aliskerov during their main event middleweight bout at UFC Fight Night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday.
A right hook from Whittaker (27-7-0) got Aliskerov stumbling, and from there, Whittaker looked to finish it. He followed with a left jab shortly after, causing Aliskerov (15-2-0) to move back toward the cage.
Whittaker then went up and under Aliskerov's chin, sending him to his knees before following with a trio of punches that led to the fight being called.
It was Whittaker's third victory in his past four fights. Aliskerov saw a seven-fight winning streak come to an end, with only two of those victories coming in UFC bouts.
In other action, Alexander Volkov (38-10) downed Sergei Pavlovich (18-3-0) by unanimous decision in a heavyweight battle. The cards read 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28 in Volkov's favor. Kelvin Gastelum (19-9-0) also prevailed by unanimous decision, getting the better of Daniel Rodriguez (17-5-0) in a meeting of middleweights.
Another middleweight, Shara Magomedov (13-0-0), knocked out Antonio Trocoli (12-4-0), while light heavyweight Volkan Oezdemir (20-7-0) did the same to Johnny Walker (21-9-0).
