Roman Anthony, baseball's No. 1 prospect, belts longest HR of 2025

Roman Anthony, the top prospect in baseball, did something Saturday night that Aaron Judge never has done. Shohei Ohtani, neither.
The 21-year-old Anthony, an outfielder in the Boston Red Sox farm system, launched a 497-foot home run for Triple-A Worcester. The grand slam was the longest home run hit this season in not only the minors, but in the majors, too.
In fact, MLB.com reported that since 2015, only four players -- all in the majors -- have hit a home run that traveled farther than Anthony's ball: Giancarlo Stanton, Christian Yelich, Nomar Mazara and C.J. Cron.
The Worcester Red Sox were leading 5-4 at home against Triple-A Rochester when Anthony smashed the 91.1 mph sinker over the fence in right-center field.
"That ball was murdered," Worcester manager Chad Tracy told the local Telegram & Gazette.

Before Anthony's homer, the 484-foot homer belted by Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels on April 19 against the San Francisco Giants was the longest-hit ball of 2025.
Red Sox fans are waiting eagerly for the Red Sox to call up Anthony. A second-round pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, Anthony is hitting .290 with 44 runs, 10 home runs and 29 RBIs over 57 games played.
The WooSox beat Rochester 10-4.
