Roughnecks defense hammers Brahmas

Mandatory Credit: Joseph Buvid-Imagn Images The Houston Roughnecks held the Brahmas to 118 total yards, forced two turnovers, recorded four sacks and scored on a pick-six in a 27-3 win on Sunday in San Antonio.
The Brahmas didn't get any points until Tristan Vizcaino connected on a 33-yard field goal to make it 18-3 with 44 seconds left in the third. Two drives later, Rayshad Williams stepped in front of a Jarrett Guarantano pass at the Houston 32, returning the prize for a game-clinching touchdown.
Houston (2-3) managed a modest 273 yards of offense, but a pair of rushing touchdowns -- a second-quarter 6-yarder from Zaquandre White and a 21-yard burst from Kirk Merritt in the third quarter -- were more than enough offense against hapless San Antonio (1-4). The Brahmas had 41 yards passing and 77 on the ground.
Justin Hall caught nine balls for 68 yards for Houston, while Jamir Jones had four tackles and a sack.
