Rutgers-Camden Advances To Championship On 75-Yard OT Goal
Rutgers-Camden midfielder Keegan Balle scored from 75-yards out, less than two minutes into overtime, to give the Scarlet Raptors a 3-2 win in their semifinal matchup with Loras. Rutgers-Camden tied the game in the 88th minute just to get to overtime.
Balle, who played at Bradley and Syracuse before landing at Rutgers-Camden, was aided by the windy elements and was just as shocked as everyone else he actually won the game with his free-kick.
Still, that quick strike took Balle, who wasn't trying to score the game-winner, by surprise.
"No, not at all," he said of his strike from midfield. "I was trying to find anyone, for that matter - the fact it went in is incredible."
Rutgers-Camden will play Messiah for the D-III championship tonight.
