He is questionable for Sunday's NFC South clash between the Saints (7-8) and host Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-7).
Kamara, 28, leads New Orleans with 1,111 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns in 12 games (11 starts).
The five-time Pro Bowl selection has 5,784 rushing yards, 4,215 receiving yards and 77 TDs in 100 games (69 starts) since the Saints drafted him in the third round in 2017.
