Saints' Taysom Hill, Foster Moreau active vs. Giants

Versatile Taysom Hill and tight end Foster Moreau are in line to make their respective season debuts on Sunday in the New Orleans Saints' home game against the New York Giants.

Both players are returning from knee injuries sustained late last season.

Hill officially is considered as a quarterback despite also playing as a tight end, wide receiver and running back in his career.

Hill, 35, recorded 39 carries for 278 yards and six touchdowns in eight starts last season, his eighth with the Saints. The fan favorite also had 23 catches for 187 yards and completed 2 of 4 passes for 21 yards with an interception.


In 105 career games (49 starts), Hill has accumulated 2,437 rushing yards and 943 receiving yards with 44 TDs from scrimmage. He is also 7-2 as a starting quarterback, completing 63.9 percent of his passes for 2,369 yards with 11 scores and nine picks.

Hill joined the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of BYU in 2017. He signed a four-year, $40 million extension in November 2021.

Moreau, 28, had 32 catches for 413 yards and a team-high five touchdown receptions last season.

While Hill and Moreau are active for the Saints (0-4) the following players are not: running back Devin Neal, cornerback Isaac Yiadom, offensive guard Cesar Ruiz, offensive tackle Xavier Truss, defensive tackle Khristian Boyd and defensive end Chase Young.

Inactive for the Giants (1-3) were running back Tyrone Tracy, linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, offensive guard Evan Neal and defensive tackle Elijah Garcia.
