Saying Goodbye To Tuffy
This image was lost some time after publication. It's a sad day in the world of sports: Tuffy Rhodes has retired days after being cut by his hometown Cincinnati Reds.
Rhodes is one of those people who exist only in baseball; famous for one magnificant day before vanishing and ultimately, inexplicably, ending up a legend in the most unlikely of places: Japan. Get Up, Baby has the full rundown of his career, from speedy utility outfielder to Wrigley Field Opening Day hero to Japanese superstar to non-roster invitee with the Reds.
Plus, of course, his name is Tuffy. And that he exists makes us remember how gloriously random sports can be. Baseball's the best.
