Rebilas-Imagn Images The Seattle Seahawks released veteran tight end Noah Fant on Sunday, just days before the team was set to begin training camp.
A six-year pro out of Iowa, the 27-year-old Fant spent the past three seasons with the Seahawks, totaling 130 catches for 1,400 yards and five touchdowns. Fant landed with Seattle via a 2022 trade that sent franchise quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.
Fant has 300 catches for 3,305 yards and 15 touchdowns in his NFL career.
The Seahawks shored up the tight end position via the 2025 NFL Draft by selecting former Miami Hurricane Elijah Arroyo in the second round. Fant had one year left on a two-year contract that was worth up to $21 million.
The deal included a non-guaranteed salary for the 2025 season of $8.49 million. The move not only frees the Seahawks from that salary but also cleared up $8.91 million in cap space.
Seattle did not announce a corresponding move, which means the team has one open spot on its roster as it gets set to open training camp on Wednesday.
