Semifinals set at CCT Global Finals

Jordan Woodruff Team Liquid, Astralis, Eternal Fire and GamerLegion advanced to the semifinals of the Champion of Champions Tour Season 1 Global Finals by winning their quarterfinal matches Tuesday.
Liquid beat ENCE 2-0 in the only sweep of the day, while Astralis rallied past Aurora Gaming, Eternal Fire topped BetBoom and GamerLegion defeated AMKAL Esports all by 2-1 scores.
The CCT Season 1 Global Finals split 16 teams into four double-elimination groups of four. The top two teams out of each group advanced to a single-elimination playoff bracket.
All matches are best-of-three until the grand final Thursday, which is best-of-five.
The winner will receive half of the $500,000 prize pool.
On Tuesday, Liquid had the easiest day, beating ENCE 13-2 on Nuke and 13-10 on Ancient. Casper "cadiaN" Moller of Denmark guided Liquid with 34 kills on a plus-18 kills-to-deaths differential.
Astralis dropped a 13-4 decision to Aurora on Mirage before fighting back with a 13-6 win on Ancient. Astralis then blasted Aurora 13-2 on Nuke for the victory. Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard had a big day for the victors, with 56 kills on a plus-27 K-D.
Eternal Fire started out with a 13-3 loss to BetBoom on Mirage, but they responded with a 13-8 win on Vertigo and 13-4 clincher on Dust II. Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dortkardes (plus-16) and Ozgur "woxic" Eker (plus-15) led the all-Turkish EF roster with 45 kills apiece.
GamerLegion began its match with AMKAL by duking out a 19-17 overtime win on Ancient. AMKAL answered with a 13-9 result on Vertigo, but GL took the final map (Nuke) 13-11. The only GL player with a positive K-D was Timur "FL4MUS" Marev of Russia (69 kills, plus-9).
