Further proof came tonight that, love him or hate him, Sidney Crosby is a modern hockey deity. In Pittsburgh’s overtime win against the Rangers, Crosby got the game-tying goal with under a minute to play in regulation.

Not only does Sid have the presence of mind to realize he can’t touch the puck after his teammate bats it towards him, but he doesn’t let that limitation impede him in any way. As soon as a Ranger knocks the puck, Crosby is freed to fire an immediate shot from a ridiculous angle, saving the Penguins and clearing the way to eventual victory.
