Sirens sign D Maja Nylen Persson to extension

The New York Sirens announced that Swedish defender Maja Nylen Persson has signed an extension that puts her under contract through the 2027-28 season.

Nylen Persson, 24, was the 10th overall pick in the 2024 PWHL Draft by the Sirens after playing eight season in the SDHL. A two-time Olympian for Sweden, she scored six points in 23 games in the 2024-25 season.


"I'm super excited to extend my contract with the Sirens," Nylen Persson said. "I can't wait to continue building and working with the entire organization for many years to come and of course playing in front of our amazing fans!"

The 5-foot-5 Nylen Persson was a three-time SDHL defender of the year and has competed in five IIHF Women's World Championships.
