Spurs' Stephon Castle injures wrist, out for rest of summer league

The San Antonio Spurs' top draft pick has been ruled out for the remainder of the Las Vegas Summer League due to a sprained wrist, the team announced Sunday.
No. 4 overall pick Stephon Castle suffered the injury when going up to contest a shot with three minutes remaining in his first summer league game, an 83-77 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday. Castle's legs were taken out from under him by his own teammate, and he landed on his right arm when he fell to the floor.
Castle, 19, remained in the game despite the injury, finishing with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists, but the Spurs are being cautious with their top draft pick in keeping him out of further games.
"I feel like they have my best interests in mind," Castle said of the move to shut him down, per CBS Sports. "I feel like it's smart to take the caution route."
Castle helped UConn to a second consecutive championship this past season, his freshman year. He averaged 11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists for the Huskies before deciding to turn pro.
