Squeaky Johnson Was Not Well-Oiled
This image was lost some time after publication, but you can still view it [object Object] . Memphis won the Conference USA tournament this afternoon with a 57-46 victory over the UAB Blazers and my favorite name in the nation, Squeaky Johnson. Squeaky finished with just four points on 2-of-10 shooting. The win probably wraps up a 1-seed for John Calipari and the Tigers.
UAB is still a lock to be in the tournament, which leaves Conference USA as a two-team conference. Keep in mind, though, that if the Big East hadn't pilfered Marquette and Cincinnati, they'd have four teams, probably the same number that the ACC will be getting.
Also, Albany is currently in the process of hammering Vermont in the finals of the America East tournament. I take a little bit of pride with the Great Danes' win, because I spent six years there as the head coach in College Basketball 2K6 on the XBox.
And here's a handy little viewing guide for the rest of the days championship games. There's just no reason for you not to have fun watching basketball today.
