Mandatory Credit: Robert Edwards-Imagn Images Chisom Okpara, Stanford's second-leading scorer with 13.9 points per game, will miss the rest of the season with a lower-extremity injury, the team announced Wednesday.
Okpara, a senior forward and second-year Harvard transfer, sustained the injury in Stanford's Jan. 10 70-55 loss at No. 14 Virginia. He also averaged 3.9 rebounds (third on the team) and 2.2 assists (second), shooting 39.3% from the floor and 30.4% from 3-point range.
The Cardinal (14-5, 3-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) have already pulled off two ranked upsets in conference play, knocking off then-No. 16 Louisville and then-No. 14 North Carolina when the two teams traveled west earlier this month.
They've been off since losing to No. 5 Duke on Saturday and return to action Saturday at home vs. Bay Area rival Cal.
