Stephen Curry ended the night on crutches after rolling his right ankle in the final minute of Golden State’s game against New Orleans yesterday. Today, the team has announced that Curry is out indefinitely, with at least two weeks until doctors re-evaluate his injury.
It’s obviously not great to have one of your top players missing for any period of time, but with so many games left in a regular season the Warriors have only occasionally seemed interested in, now is the time to play it safe. Curry’s right ankle has been a continual problem for the two-time MVP, especially early in his career. By the Mercury News’s count, this is the 14th time he’s tweaked that ankle since entering the NBA in 2009, though he hasn’t missed any games because of it since the first round of the 2016 playoffs.
