Stephon Marbury, Champion, Had A Semi-Nice Thing To Say About Mike D'Antoni
When Stephon Marbury left the world of NBA veteran's minimums for the Chinese Basketball Association, he vowed to win a title. Two years later, and Starbury is indeed a champion. Knicks fans, look away.
Marbury scored 41 points in the clinching game of the Beijing Ducks' five-game series win, a huge upset in the inequal world of Chinese hoops. Beijing defeated Guangdong, which had won seven of the previous eight championships. But Guangdong had never had to face a determined Marbury.
Afterward, someone on Twitter pointed out that Marbury has a ring, while Mike D'Antoni is jobless. Steph took the high road, or at least high for him: "He helped me more then he tried to hurt me."
