Swiss Stage underway at $5M World Championships

The Swiss Stage began Wednesday at the $5 million League of Legends 2025 World Championship with eight Round 1 matches in Beijing.

In the best-of-1 matches, Secret Whales defeated Keyd Stars in 33 minutes on blue; CTBC Flying Oyster beat Fnatic in 32 minutes on blue; KT Rolster defeated KOI in 33 minutes on blue; 100 Thieves defeated Bilibili Gaming in 31 minutes on red; T1 beat FlyQuest in 34 minutes on red; Anyone's Legend needed 41 minutes to defeat Hanwha Life on red; Top Esports beat G2 Esports in 32 minutes on red; and Gen.G opened with a 27-minute win on blue against PSG Talon.

The Swiss Stage features a five-round format. Teams need three wins to reach the Knockout Stage, while teams with three losses will be eliminated. All matches are best-of-one except for elimination and advancement matches, which are best-of-three.

Eight teams will make the Knockout Stage, a single-elimination bracket starting Oct. 28 where all matches are best-of-five. The winner of the Nov. 9 grand final will earn $1 million, with $800,000 going to the runner-up.
