T1 punch ticket to $5M League of Legends World Championships

T1 defeated Invictus Gaming 3-1 in a play-in match Tuesday to clinch a spot in the $5 million League of Legends 2025 World Championship.
Playing in Beijing, T1 punched their ticket to the Swiss Stage of the 16-team tournament that will crown a $1 million champion on Nov. 9.
T1 opened with a 34-minute win on red before Invictus Gaming evened the match with a 38-minute victory on blue. T1 took the best-of-five match with a 35-minute win on blue and a 27-minute triumph on red.
South Korean jungler Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun delivered an MVP performance for T1, finishing with a 21/12/44 ratio of kills, deaths and assists.
Invictus Gaming earned $75,000 in consolation as the event's 17th-place finisher.
The Swiss Stage begins Wednesday with a five-round format. Teams need three wins to reach the Knockout Stage, while teams with three losses will be eliminated. All matches are best-of-one except for elimination and advancement matches, which are best-of-three.
Eight teams will make the Knockout Stage, a single-elimination bracket starting Oct. 28 where all matches are best-of-five.
