Team Falcons notch 2 sweeps at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade

Team Falcons recorded a pair of 2-0 sweeps on Sunday in group-stage action at the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade event in Serbia.

Members of Group B, Team Falcons blanked L1GA TEAM and Gaimin Gladiators.

Slovakia's Oliver "skiter" Lepko averaged 10.5 kills, 1.5 deaths and 17.0 assists as Team Falcons prevailed in 56 minutes on red before earning a 43-minute victory on green against L1GA Team.

Against Gaimin Gladiators, Team Falcons got averages of 13.0 kills, 2.5 deaths and 18.5 assists from Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak of Russia while winning in 28 minutes on red and in 61 minutes on green.

L1GA TEAM and Team Spirit also pulled off sweeps in Group B on Sunday, topping Nouns Esports and Aurora Gaming, respectively. Gaimin Gladiators and Team Spirit played to a 1-1 draw.

The $1 million Dota 2 event began with 12 teams divided into two groups for round-robin play. Group matches are all two maps. The top four teams from each group advance to the double-elimination playoffs, which begin Wednesday. The bottom two teams in each group will be eliminated.

Playoff matches will be best-of-three until the grand final, which will be best-of-five. The champion will pocket $400,000, and the runner-up will get $200,000.

Five Group A matches were held on Sunday, three of which ended in a 1-1 tie. Tundra Esports and Yakult's Brothers accounted for the wins, with Tundra blanking MOUZ 2-0 and Yakult's doing the same to Talon Esports.

Team Liquid was involved in two ties in Group A on Sunday. Yakult's Brothers and MOUZ were also deadlocked at 1-1.
