Team Liquid awaits foe in OWCS NA Stage 2 grand final
Overwatch Champions Series Team Liquid advanced to the grand final of the regional playoffs with a 3-1 win over Geekay Esports on Saturday in the Overwatch Champions Series 2025 -- North America Stage 2.
Geekay Esports dropped to the lower bracket final on Sunday against NTMR, with the winner facing Team Liquid later on Sunday.
Team Liquid won the upper bracket final with a fast start against Geekay Esports, taking Oasis Control 2-0 and Circuit Royal Escort 2-1. Geekay stayed alive with a 3-2 victory on King's Row Hybrid before Team Liquid closed out the match with a 123.89-91.95 win on Runasapi Push.
Rupal Zaman, who is American/Bangladeshi, was selected most valuable player in leading Team Liquid.
NTMR eliminated Spacestation Gaming 3-0 in the lower bracket semifinal, wining 2-1 on Busan Control, 2-1 on Hollywood Hybrid and 81.2m-60.07m on Colosseo Push. NTMR's Rocco "Kronik" Iacobacci of the United States was selected the MVP.
The regional playoffs are a double-elimination bracket from June 21-29 and feature the top six teams from the regular season, which ran from May 10 to June 15. The bottom two teams, seventh-place Supernova and eighth-place DhillDucks, went to promotion/relegation for Stage 3.
The top three teams will advance to the Midseason Championship and North America Stage 3. The prize money has yet to be determined.
