TEAM VISION, BoomBoys start fast at The International

TEAM VISION and Boomboys got off to 2-0 starts Thursday as group stage action began at The International 2026 in Shanghai.

Sixteen teams are competing in the 15th annual Dota 2 tournament. The crowd-funded prize pool has a base of $1.6 million and a current vallue of $2.93 million. .

The Swiss-system group stage features best-of-three matches, with the top three teams going to the playoffs and the fourth- to 13th-place teams moving to an elimination round. The bottom three teams are eliminated. Five additional teams will advance to the playoffs from the elimination round.

The double-elimination playoff bracket will run from Aug. 20-23 with all matches best-of-three until the best-of-five grand final.

TEAM VISION posted a 2-1 victory against Team Resilience in Round 1, sandwiching a 42-minute win on red and a 32-minute win on green around Team Resilience's 48-minute win on red. In Round 2, TEAM VISION rallied for a 2-1 win against Team Falcons, which opened with a 45-minute win on green. TEAM VISION answered with 51- and 95-minute wins on green.

BoomBoys swept OG in Round 1 with a 45-minute win on green and a 37-minute win on red. In Round 2, BoomBoys wrapped a 54- and 69-minute wins on green around Iron Wing's 45-minute victory on red.
