Tempo address rebounding issues by acquiring Aneesah Morrow from Sun

The Toronto Tempo acquired power forward Aneesah Morrow from the Connecticut Sun on Friday for a 2028 second-round draft pick and the rights to veteran Russian forward Maria Kliundikova.

Morrow, who ranks eighth in the WNBA with 8.9 rebounds, addresses Toronto's issues on the glass. The expansion Tempo are last in the 15-team league with a 47% rebounding rate.

The seventh overall pick of the 2025 WNBA Draft, Morrow also averaged 11.6 points while shooting 42.1% from the field for Connecticut.

Morrow, 23, missed three weeks in July with a leg injury that required some reconditioning time. But in her three games since returning to action, Morrow averaged 17.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals while making 21 of 39 shots from the field.

Kliundikova, 28, has played in just three WNBA seasons since becoming the Los Angeles Sparks' first-round pick in 2018. The 6-foot-4 player averaged 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds in 11.0 minutes off the bench last year for the Minnesota Lynx, then the Tempo used an expansion pick to bring her to Toronto.

Kliundikova has not played in a game this season.
